About the Institute

Meaning Integrity

An independent research institute studying how meaning, authority, constraint, cognition, and control behave in human and automated decision systems.

The Field

Why Meaning Integrity exists.

Systems do not fail only because information is missing or inaccurate. They fail when meaning is distorted, authority is displaced, context is lost, constraints become symbolic, or decisions continue after their governing conditions have changed.

Meaning Integrity studies how these failures form, propagate, and become operationally consequential. The institute provides a coherent home for research spanning command dynamics, cognitive systems, AI assurance, institutional behavior, operational control, and high-consequence decision-making.

Research Approach

How the work is developed.

Identify the object of study Define what is actually moving, degrading, stabilizing, or becoming unreachable.
Define candidate variables Distinguish observable conditions from latent mechanisms and avoid treating provisional measures as settled truth.
Separate analogy from mechanism Use concepts from physics, mathematics, and systems theory only where the relationship can be operationally specified.
Examine control under pressure Evaluate whether authority, safeguards, and oversight remain causally effective when consequence and time compression increase.
Make failure visible Use visual models, theoretical frameworks, and publication records to reveal structures that are otherwise easy to miss.

Founder

Caroline Suzanne Brooks

AI Solutions Engineer, Systems Researcher, and Cognitive Battlespace Architect

Caroline Suzanne Brooks examines how meaning, authority, constraint, and control behave in high-consequence systems.

Her research integrates systems theory, artificial intelligence, technical communication, cognitive analysis, operational risk, command dynamics, and visual discourse.

Meaning Integrity was established to provide a coherent institutional home for this work and to make its theoretical structure publicly accessible.

Independence

Institutional position.

Meaning Integrity is an independent research institute. Its work is developed outside institutional sponsorship and is intended to advance the study of meaning, authority, constraint, cognition, and control in complex systems.
